This listing is for us to replace the damaged/worn axle tube bearing surface on your split case schwimmwagen, kubelwagen or early VW beetle and bus transmissions.
We used the latest 3d scanning technology to make highly detailed and accurate scans of the transmission we used in the 1944 schwimmwagen we restored in 2022. With these scans we were able to reverse engineer the bearing surface for the axle tubes which allowed us to design a suitable system (part and process) to replace a damaged or worn bearing surface on a split case transmission.
We prototyped our process using both an early 1942 aluminium and late 1944 magnesium transmission with the finalized process being used to repair the aluminium transmission case we used in the schwimmwagen restoration for the Australian Armour and Artillery Museum in Cairns Australia.
The schwimmwagen is used every year at their AusArmourfest event to take customers for rides on their test track.
We also offer a complete transmission rebuild service.
The process: Send us your transmission, we repair it and send it back.
