This is an exact reproduction of the LHS Dumb Iron with the Australian welded on steering damper bracket found on 88", Series 2a and 3 Land Rovers. This part can be retro-fitted to Series vehicles that came without the damper bracket.
Our Dumb Irons are 382mm long, taking them past the front cross member giving you maximum flexibility around where to locate the join. Our parts share the exact dimensions of the original chassis rail regardless of where they are cut and will butt weld to it without leaving a step. To meet engineering standards in our state we are required to use fish plates (we weld ours internally) on every chassis join.
Engineering requirements change from region to region so please contact a suitably qualified engineer to discuss your plans before you commence any chassis repairs.
Made from high quality steel and fabricated in our workshop this dumb iron will fit just like the original and will pass any inspection.
This part is supplied in red oxide primer.
